Document Type Definition (DTD) for Generated XML Documents

Two XML documents are created in the system for each control recipe that was sent or each cockpit that was activated.

  • A document for the layout definition (layout.xml)

  • A document containing the data from the control recipe (data.xml)

The Document Type Definition determines rules on how the XML elements, attributes, and other data can be defined and represented with a logical relationship to each other in an XML document. The XML files used in PP-PI follow DTD files that are stored in the Web Repository (transaction SMW0 package CMX_POC) as object name with the file extension DTD (*.DTD).

  • PMC_DTD_DATA.DTD for the data.xml of the PI sheet or cockpit (Release 4.6c)

  • PMC_DTD_DATA_EX.DTD for the data.xml of the PI sheet or cockpit (all Releases > R/3 4.6c)

  • PMC_DTD_DIALOG.DTD for the XMLs for dialog/signature/variance pop-ups

  • PMC_DTD_LAYOUT.DTD for the layout.xml that is created in the standard system or via PPPI_LAYOUT
