Defining MIME Types

To import HTML or image files such as gif, png, or jpg, you need to define the corresponding Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) type first.

Procedure

  1. Open the SAP Web Repository: Object Display window by executing transaction SMW0.
  2. Choose the relevant Web Object.
  3. Choose F8.
  4. Start the search by choosing F8.
    The SAP Web Repository: Object Display window appears.
  5. Choose Start of the navigation pathSettings Next navigation step Define MIME TypesEnd of the navigation path from the menu bar.
  6. The Data Browser: Table MIMETYPES Select Entries window appears.
  7. To create a new MIME type, choose F5.
  8. To define the MIME content type, enter the Type.
    This is a free-text field. See the examples in the table below.
  9. To define the file system extension, enter the Extension.

    This is a free-text field. You can enter the following types and extensions, for example:

    List of Recommended MIME Types
    TYPE EXTENSION
    image/jpg *.jpg, *.jpeg
    image/png *.png
    image/gif *.gif
    text/html *.htm, *.html
  10. To create the object, save your entries.

Results

The MIME type is created in the database and the corresponding files can now be imported.
