Basic Operations with Screen Elements
Use
Operations like selecting, moving, deleting, copying and so on are common to all screen elements in the Screen Painter. You can use this function as a reference for performing basic operations with screen elements.
Features
Selecting Screen Elements
Do one of the following:
- To select one element, click anywhere on the element.
- To select adjacent elements, click at any point outside an element, and drag a rectangle over the elements that you want to select.
- To select non-adjacent elements, hold down the CTRL key and click on each element that you want to select.
Deleting Screen Elements
To delete a screen element, select it and choose Edit → Delete.
Moving Screen Elements
Do one of the following:
- To move one element, select it and drag it to a new position.
- To move several elements, select them and use the move the
handle to drag them to a new position.
Resizing Screen Elements
- Select the element that you want to resize.
The mouse cursor changes shape if the object can be resized.
- Drag the sizing handles until the control is the size you want.
Repeat and Undo Actions
You can always undo or repeat your last action, even if you deleted an element, by using the undo and redo functions.
- You can undo the last action you took by choosing the Undo pushbutton on the standard toolbar.
- If you later decide you did not want to undo an action, click the Redo pushbutton on the standard toolbar.
Cut, Copy, and Paste
You can cut, copy, and paste screen elements by using the corresponding functions from the Edit menu or from the standard toolbar.
