Calling the Initial Screen

Prerequisites

You must have a program in which selection screens are defined.

Procedure

Use one of the following procedures to go to the Variants Initial Screen.

1. Open the Repository Browser (transaction SE80) and navigate to the desired program.
2. Double-click on the program.

   The ABAP Editor appears.

3. Choose Goto → Variants.

   The initial screen for maintaining variants appears.

You can also use the following procedure to reach the initial screen for maintaining variants:

1. Open the initial screen of the ABAP Editor (transaction SE38).
2. In the Program field, enter the name of the relevant program.
3. In the Subobjects group box, select the Variants radio button.
4. Choose  Change.

   The initial screen for maintaining variants appears.

Result

The following functions are available on the initial screen:

• Create variants
• Display variant directory
• Display and change values and attributes
• Copy, delete and rename variants
