Working with Characteristics

Use

You use this procedure to create, display and edit characteristics with the Characteristics Builder in the Classification Toolset.

In the context menu of a package, choose Create → Characteristic or open the Characteristics Builder directly (transaction SATTR).
Enter a short description of the characteristic (maximum 30 characters).
Assign the object to a package and a transport request.
On the Properties tab page, in the Object Type (Group) field specify the object type or object type groups that can be classified with this characteristic.
From the Sub-Object Treatment dropdown box, specify the way subobjects shall be treated.

If you have selected inheritance or delegation mode, you must allow implicit changes,.
In the Changeability group box, select the way in which you want to classify the characteristic.
From the Organization of Classifications dropdown box, select the place where the characteristic will be stored.
You have the additional options of making the characteristic single-valued, to hide remarks and to make it visible or invisible to customers.
