User Types
Use
The following two user types cover the main scenarios for authentication and authorization.
Dialog User
Dialog users are required for interactive work with the PI tools.
A dialog user represents a human user (as opposed to a service user) who logs on through the various user interfaces of the different components of SAP PI, such as, the Enterprise Services Repository, Integration Directory, and System Landscape Directory.
Service User
Service user enable secure communication between SAP PI and other components. These are the two main types of communication that service users are relevant for in SAP PI:

Internal Communication between the PI tools and the runtime components
Default User
Default users are available initially after installation of SAP PI and provided with extensive permissions, for example, for administrators.
