Cancel Leave Request (with Approval) (PA-TIM-REC)

Use

The Cancel Leave Request workflow enables employees to make the following changes to existing leave requests and cancellations:

  • To delete leave requests and cancellations that have not yet been processed by the approver

  • To cancel approved leave requests (if they do not take the leave, for example)

  • To cancel part of an approved leave request, to shorten a period of leave by a few days, for example.

The workflow is only ever used in conjunction with the Leave Request self-service application. We recommend you to use the application in the Web browser with the exception of the HR administrator corrects errors step. SAP recommends that you use the Business Workplace for this step.

Structure

The leave request is subject to an approval procedure, which involves the following persons:

  • Requester (employee)

  • Approver (such as the supervisor)

  • HR administrator (optional in case of error)

If the requester deletes leave requests and cancellations that the approver has not processed, the workflow is terminated and the relevant work item is deleted from the approver’s inbox.

The approver can approve or reject the cancellation and can enter a note explaining the decision. The note is visible to all parties.

The HR administrator is automatically included in the procedure if the system cannot save the approved cancellation. The administrator can correct the error in the Maintain Time Data transaction (PA61).
