Tagging Framework

Tagging framework allows end-users to enrich resources such as business objects, and documents with additional metadata information such as tags, comments, and ratings.

By adding the metadata information a user can:

• Organize and search for business object information
• Analyze business object information
• Share content with other users

Other than allowing the users to add plain tags and ratings, the framework allows end users to add tags based on some predefined properties or attributes, build tag clouds, and add ratings based on categories..

To enable the above-mentioned activities, the framework provides the following:

• APIs to create, delete, update, and view tags, or comments, or ratings.

• ODATA services that contain SAP-specific metadata from the SAP Data Dictionary that helps the developer to consume SAP business data, such as descriptions of fields.

• An archiving class that allows you to archive the metadata such as ratings, tags, and comments when you are archiving the business objects of an SAP application.
