Conversions Operations: Budget Structure

Use

You can use the following activities in the Customizing of Funds Management to maintain the budget structure (BS) in FM area/fiscal year:

  • Converting an FM area to BS maintenance

  • Change to the BS within master data maintenance conversion to year-dependency

  • Delete a BS

Features

Generating budget structures

If you have not yet worked with budget objects or posting objects and want to do so in future, then you can execute IMG activity Generate Budget Structure to generate a budget structure from already budgeted and posted funds centers and commitment items.

When you start the program the following things take place for an FM area:

  • all budgeting FM account assignments are marked as budget objects

  • all posted FM account assignments are marked as budget objects

Conversion to year-dependency

If you have maintained master data year-independently until now and change to year-dependent master data maintenance, you must execute IMG activity Convert to Year-Dependency: Copy BS Annually with change operations.

The program executes the change from an existing year-independent BS to a year-dependent BS. You must then create a new BS for each new fiscal year.

Deleting the Budget Structure

If you have been working with budget and posting objects and do not want to do so in future, then execute IMG activity Delete Budget Structure to delete all the budget and/or posting objects from a budget structure.

  • Year-dependent budget structure

    You can delete the BS(s) of a fund(s) for (a) certain fiscal year(s)

  • Year-independent budget structure

    You delete the BS(s) of a fund(s) for all fiscal years
