Example: Opening Posting Periods Selectively

The following settings demonstrate how you can determine which commitments or actuals postings are permitted in Funds Management by opening posting periods selectively.:

In this example, you define the open posting periods for FM area FM01 in fiscal years 2000 und 2001.

Fiscal Year 2000

For fiscal year 2000 you determine that only a selection of commitment postings, purchase order ( 51 ) and business trip commitments ( 52 ), are permissible. These postings for the payment and commitment budget are only permitted in periods 09 to 12 .

A further restriction applies for account assignments. While purchase order commitments are usually possible in all FM account assignments, postings of travel commitments are restricted to fund 1.

Fiscal Year 2001

You specify that all commitments postings are allowed in fiscal year 2001. To do this, you make generic entries for the relevant parameters.
