Planner Profile

Definition

A planner profile is a summary of plan tasksstructured in a hierarchy. It contains the planning tasks and sequences used in the totals table FMBDT .

Use

Planner profiles provide a selection of the different planning tasks for the planner, tailored for their area. Planners must assign themselves to a planner profile before they can carry out planning.

You control the planning flow using planner profiles. You define which plan tasks are used with which default parameters. You can define any number of plan tasks.

The plan tasks are assigned to a planner profile as profile items . The profile items define the order of the plan tasks in a planner profile. You can assign the same plan tasks to a planner profile several times, but with different default parameters.

You can enter the following specifications for planning in a planner profile:

  • Authorizations

You can assign an authorization group to each planner profile.

You can ensure that the individual planners only plan within their area of responsibility by defining planner profiles tailored for each planner and assigning authorization groups to the planning profiles.

  • Default parameters

You can assign default parameters to your planning layouts. The combination of planning layout and default parameter is described as a planning task.

You enter values for variables of a planning layout using default parameters. In the planner profile, you can define whether the values can or cannot be overwritten during planning.

You define a planning layout in Customizing of Funds Management under Start of the navigation path Budget Control System (BCS) Next navigation step Budgeting Next navigation step Budget Entry Next navigation step Planning Next navigation step Define Planner Profile End of the navigation path .

The totals table FMBDT is exclusively used for the definition of planner profiles in the budget control system. Other tables cannot be used.

Also note that the local currency is predefined for budget planning in the Budget Control System.

Structure

Planner profiles are structured in a hierarchy:

  • General planner profile

  • Planable tables (totals table FMBDT is the only table available in BCS)

  • Plan tasks for a table

  • Default parameters

Integration

You can use planner profiles from other applications, for example Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) or Cost Center Accounting (CO-OM). In this case, you have to assign the totals table FMBDT in the planner profiles of the other components and define appropriate planning tasks.
