Routing Component Assignment (PLM-WUI-APP-RTG)
The routing component assignment supports you in the creation of routings and manufacturing BOMs for assembly. You can start the creation of routings at a very early point in time, parallel to product development and without material master records.
On the PLM Web user interface, you can create manufacturing BOMs from an engineering product structure, taking simulation parameters into consideration. You can create routings and assignments between your product structure elements and the operations of one or more routings.
From these assignments, the system creates a manufacturing BOM and assigns the manufacturing BOM components to the routing operations according to the production sequence.
You can visualize the planning-relevant elements of your engineering product structure, using the viewer. You can make the assignments of your product structure elements to routing operations from either the product structure or the viewer (see Viewer).
Routing component assignment is integrated in the PLM Web user interface (see Web User Interface of SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM-WUI)). In Customizing for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
, you can make settings for synchronizing product structures or product assemblies via routings under .
On the Web UI for routing component assignment, different areas are available for processing (see Web User Interface of Routing Component Assignment).
You can start the routing component assignment from the Home area of SAP NetWeaver Business Client in a role-specific manner under Services
, as follows:
Choose or .
As product entry for the routing component assignment, you can only use nodes from the product structure for Product Structure and Assembly Management (PLM-WUI-OBJ-PSM)
, in other words, product familes, product items, and product views. You cannot use product assemblies as product entry.
