Manually Setting Statuses

Use

You can manually set statuses per event and component. This allows you to subjectively assess whether, for instance, a delay that has been given a red light really is critical for the success of a project or whether it can be ignored.

Prerequisites

You have defined statuses for events in Customizing for the Project System by choosing Start of the navigation path Project Next navigation step System Next navigation step Material Next navigation step Monitoring Next navigation step Dates Next navigation step Define Status. End of the navigation path

You can only assign statuses to events for which at least one date has been set.

Procedure

You can enter statuses on either the Dates overview or the detail screen.

  1. Select the required component.

  2. In the Status column for the required event enter the key of the relevant status. You can also use F4 help to display the descriptions of all the statuses that have been defined and to select one.

  3. Choose Enter

Result

The status is set for the chosen event and component. If an icon has been assigned to the status in Customizing for the Project System , this icon appears in the Dates overview and the detail screen for the combination of component and event.
