Connectivity
The Connectivity module is used to enable communication with third party systems.
You can use connectivity to provide a third party system with information from the clinical system i.s.h.med or to enable a third party system to create data in i.s.h.med.
You differentiate between incoming third party system queries of i.s.h.med (inbound connectivity) and outgoing clinical information system (i.s.h.med) queries of the third party system (outbound connectivity).
Example
You wish to enable a third party system (e.g. external physician’s practice) to create clinical orders in i.s.h.med. Web services provide the third party system with this option.
You must configure the Connectivity module in accordance with the corresponding third party systems. The third party systems must have access to the corresponding web services in order to use the Connectivity module.
As connectivity can run in two directions (inbound and outbound connectivity), you must determine whether you wish to use both directions for the communication between i.s.h.med and third party systems. You must configure this accordingly in i.s.h.med customizing.
See Set Up Functions for Inbound Connectivity
See Set Up Functions for Outbound Connectivity
You must also provide the system administrators and users of the third party system with an interface for creating or querying data from i.s.h.med.
Within the framework of connectivity standard functions and sample implementations are available for supporting the following processes:
