Mandatory Filter

The global configuration parameter FORCE_PLANNING_VIEW_FILTER allows you to warn or force SAP Integrated Business Planning, add-in for Microsoft Excel (SAP IBP, add-in for Microsoft Excel) users to set up a filter for the planning view they are working with.

Planning views that are opened without a filter can have a detrimental effect on performance, as there is a high likelihood that a large amount of unnecessary data is called. You, as an administrator, can warn or force users to set filters when they create or edit a planning view. You can use the global configuration parameter FORCE_PLANNING_VIEW_FILTER in the PLAN_VIEW parameter group to do so.

The parameter has the following values:

  • Mandatory: if you select this value, the Excel add-in displays a message telling the user to set up a filter before proceeding.

  • Warning: if you select this value, the Excel add-in displays a message asking the user if they are sure that they want to proceed without setting up a filter.
