General Settings
With the settings on the General tab of the Options dialog, you can make changes in the settings related to data and formulas in the planning views and set them as defaults. You can access the settings without opening a planning view.
The following table contains the settings available on the General tab:
| Option Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Keep formulas static that reference planning view cells | Select this option if you want to use Microsoft Excel formulas that reference data or member cells of a planning view and you want the formulas to be static.
Set this option if your planning views change in size and you find them slow to render (for example, when you remove or add key figures or change your filter). With this option enabled, if you choose to create a Microsoft Excel formula using a cell from a planning view, the cell itself and not the cell content is referenced. |
| Keep formula on data | If you enter a formula in a cell that already contains data and want to keep it after refreshing the planning view, select this option.
Note that the write data step may take longer when this option is used. |
| Clear data from the planning view when you save the workbook | When you save the workbook to your hard drive, all data from the planning views it contains are automatically cleared. |
| Set the worksheet type to "Excel Worksheet" | Any worksheet in the Excel add-in is considered an SAP IBP worksheet by default. This means that the SAP Integrated Business Planning, add-in for Microsoft Excel (Excel add-in) features are enabled in the worksheet.
If you enable this setting, the functions in the SAP IBP ribbon are grayed out because the worksheet is no longer recognized by the Excel add-in, and functions as a Microsoft Excel worksheet. This can be useful to set for worksheets that are supporting other sheets, such as chart feeder sheets, sheets with data from other sources, or sheets with pivot tables. When you disable this option, the worksheet type is set to SAP IBP worksheet. |
| Activate local member recognition | This activates the automatic detection of a local member in your workbook. As a result, your local calculations are automatically recognized and converted into local members. For more information, see Local Members.
After you have selected this option, in the planning view, add a new line or column where you want to add your new local member. Enter a name for the local member and add the calculation in the first cell. You can use simple calculations but also more complex Microsoft Excel formulas such as VLOOKUP. When you press Enter, the system automatically applies the formula to the whole row and adds new rows or columns in the same position for all attribute and time combinations. |
| Activate local member recognition – Use position in axis | If you don’t want to have a direct linkage between the local member and the SAP IBP objects used to calculate it, and want the local member to be linked with a certain cell in the planning view instead, you can select the Use position in axis. |
| Delete Local Members | Select the local member you want to delete and choose OK. |
