Providing Help for Users

Use

You are able to provide several types of help for users who are working with ALV:

F1 Help For each column, you specify a DDIC element that includes a suitable F1 help text. If the user selects a column and presses the F1 function key, the help text appears.
ToolTips You are able to define tooltips for various elements of the ALV output. If the user moves the mouse pointer over the element and rests it there for a moment, the text box with the tooltip text appears.

Note

In the tree structure you are able to handle events for various keys and to define any functions for them in this way. The function keys F1 and F4 are also available here. SAP recommends that you only use these keys for the help functions.
