Searching for Objects Using Filters

You can use the search filters, such as metadata, usage IDs, name, and so on, to find objects in a visualization.

Context

You are searching for objects in the visualization by setting search criteria.

Procedure

  1. Choose the Expand Headeroption to expand all the filter options.
  2. Enter keywords in the Name option or the exact name of the object if you know.

    You can use the Value Help option to set search criteria to narrow down your search results to specific objects in the visualization.

  3. Enter the metadata of the object in the Metadata option. You can use the Value Help option to include or exclude search conditions.

    • In the Includes section, enter the name of the source, category, name, and value of the metadata of the visualization that you're searching for.

    • In the Excludes section, enter the name of the source, category, name, and value of the metadata of the visualization that you want to be excluded from the search.

  4. Enter the usage ID or usage name of the object in the Usage IDs option. You can also use the Value Help option to include or exclude search conditions.

    The Includes and the Excludes sections contain the Add Usage ID drop-down option. This option lets you view all the available usage IDs associated with the visualization.

  5. Enter the type of content that the object is in the Content Type option.
  6. Enter node ID of the object in the Node ID option.
  7. Enter the ID of the parent node of the object in the Parent option.
  8. Enter Yes to search for objects that are visible or No to search for objects that are hidden in the Visible option .
