Working with BOM Redlining
Use the procedures listed in this topic to create, edit, delete, and download BOM redlining.
Prerequisites
You have the necessary roles and authorizations to perform this action.
To work with redlining, your collaboration administrator must set a processing status to In Use for the collaboration type.
For more information, refer to the User Actions and Roles table in Collaborating on Product Data.
Creating a BOM Redlining
To create a BOM redlining, perform the following steps:

From the list of shared product data, choose the required BOM.

In the BOM details view, in the header area, choose Create Redlining.
The BOM redlining view is displayed.

Perform one of the following actions:

Add
Adds a component.
The component is added to the redlining, and the Status attribute of the component is updated to Created. The table row is also highlighted.
Edit
Edits the selected component.
The component is updated, and the Status attribute of the component is updated to Edited. The table row is also highlighted.
Delete
Deletes the selected component.
The component is updated, and the Status attribute of the component is updated to Deleted. The table row is also highlighted.
Before saving a redlining file, the redlining actions you perform determine the status of a component in the redlining. For more information, refer to the following table.

Save the redlining.
Viewing or Editing an Existing BOM Redlining
To edit a BOM redlining, perform the following steps:

From the list of shared product data, choose the redlinings link associated with a BOM.
A list of redlinings created for the BOM is displayed.
NoteIf the associated BOM file was revised after a redlining was created, this is displayed in a message under the redlining file name.

Choose the necessary redlining file name, and then choose Download.
The redlining file is displayed.

Perform the necessary changes to the redlining, and save the redlining.
NoteYou are prompted to save the changes in a new redlining file.
Deleting a BOM Redlining
To delete a BOM redlining, perform the following steps:

From the list of shared product data, choose the redlinings link associated with a BOM.
A list of redlinings created for the BOM is displayed.

Select the required redlining, and then choose Delete.

Confirm the message.
Downloading a BOM Redlining
To download a BOM redlining, perform the following steps:

From the list of shared product data, choose the redlinings link associated with a BOM.
A list of redlinings created for the BOM is displayed.

Select the required redlining, and then choose Download.
