Creating Positions
Procedure
You create positions whenever you want to add new positions to an organizational structure.
You can create positions using either Simple Maintenance or by creating infotype 1000 (object) as described here. This 'existence infotype' is a prerequisite for creating further infotypes for an object.
You can also create new positions by copying existing positions. See Copying Objects.

On the Organizational Management screen, choose .
The Maintain Position screen appears.

In the Plan Version and Position fields, enter data as required.

Under Infotype name, choose Object.

Using the tab pages, select the status you want to assign to the new object.

Choose Create infotype.
The Add Infotype Object screen appears.

In the Validity period, Object abbreviation, and Object name fields, enter data as required.

Save your entries.
You go to the Infotype 1001 Relationships: Essential Relationship screen. To create a relationship record, go to step 8. Otherwise, skip this step.

To create a relationship:

Enter data in the appropriate fields as required.

Save your entries.
The Maintain Position screen appears.

To exit the Infotype 1001 Relationahips: Essential relationship screen, choose Back or Cancel.
The Maintain Position screen appears.
