The Search Function

Use

With the Search function in the structural graphic you can search for specific objects in the hierarchical structure that is displayed.

Prerequisites

You use this function when you want to find one or more objects within a hierarchical structure.

The search takes place using object texts. You can enter the complete object text or just part of it. The system highlights every object whose text contains the character string that you entered.

This function is particularly helpful when working with large and complex structures. The search covers all open view windows.

Procedure

  1. Select Start of the navigation pathObject Next navigation step FindEnd of the navigation path.

    The Find Objects dialog box appears.

  2. In the Search Text field, enter a text and set the Case-Sensitive and Delete Previous Selections flags, if required.

  3. Choose Find.

    The system highlights all objects that match your entry.

  4. To search for further objects:

    - In the Search Text field, enter a text and set the Case-Sensitive and Delete Previous Selections flags, if required.

    - Choose Find.

    The system highlights all objects that match your entry.

  5. To exit the dialog box, choose Close.
