Adding Dependent Objects

This option allows you to embed a dependent object.

Context

Dependent Objects are business objects hosted by other business object. You can include dependent objects in your business object to enhance your business object. SAP provides few standard dependent objects such as /BOBF/TEXT_COLLECTION, /BOBF/ATTACHMENT_FOLDER and so on.

Prerequisite

You have already added a node. For more information, see Adding Nodes.

Procedure

Choose the Nodes page.
Choose a parent node in the nodes table.
Choose Add DO.
In the New DO Node wizard, enter the following details:
1. DO Embedding Name: Enter an embedding name for the dependent object.
2. DO Name: Enter the name of the existing dependent object. You can also browse for existing dependent objects.
Choose Finish.
Save the business object.

Note

After SAVE, the complete structure of the dependent object will be embedded into the host BO. The entities of the dependent objects can be seen in outline.
To check for correctness of the business object, choose (Check ABAP Development Object) from the toolbar.

Note

To check for errors, use the Problems view.
To activate the business object, choose Edit > Activate ABAP Development Object.

You can also use (Activate ABAP Development Object) on the toolbar.
