Master Data Constellations for Broker You create a broker contract and a broker account for a broker (obligatory). You can manage a separate commission contract with its own commission account for a broker, as well as creating a separate subledger clarification account. This produces four master data scenarios for brokers:
Broker with commission account and subledger clarification account
Broker with commission account and general ledger clarification account
Broker without commission account and with subledger clarification account
Broker without commission account and with subledger clarification account
SAP recommends that you pay commission with a specific commission account, with an assigned commission contract. If you set up a separate commission contract with its own commission account, you will have a better view of the broker's posting data.
The commission determined by the commission system is offset against the commission reported and called in by the broker, on the commission account.
The commission on this account that is open and not locked for clearing is included in the proposal for the broker report.
Only commission to which the broker was entitled when processing the broker report is included on the broker account. These commissions can be disbursed or cleared with receivables and incoming payments.
If no commission contract is available with an assigned commission account, you must post commission to the broker contract.
SAP recommends that you use a subledger clarification account.
The subledger clarification account enables clearly arranged presentation of the clarification cases for a broker in the account balance.
Unlike the G/L clarification account, the subledger clarification account is managed on an open item basis.
