Creation of Broker Report Item Without Master Data

Use

In addition to the regular creation of broker report items , you can also create these even if the system has not already found customer master data in the system. Such a scenario could occur if a new insurance contract is sold and immediately collected, or if a broker has collected for a customer for which he/she is not primarily responsible. You can proceed without entering the customer master data and the insurance contract by selecting the option Business partner not available; proceed without business partner in the first processing step.

The new broker report item must be posted to clarification, and must be postprocessed by the insurance processor. For more information about postings and clarification, see Clarification of a Broker Report .

Prerequisites

in Customizing for Collections/Disbursements , you have made the following settings under Start of the navigation path Broker Collections Next navigation step Settings for Processing Broker Reports with Web Application End of the navigation path :

  • You have created a change reason 'New Report Item Without Master Data' under Define and Set Up Change Reason and marked this as Suitable for Use with Missing Master Data .

  • Under Derive Clarification Code from Change Reason , you have assigned clarification codes with posting rule Complete Amount to Clarification to the change reason for premiums, commission, overpayment, underpayment, and equal payments.

Activities

The broker/insurance processor is in the web application Processing Broker Reports , in the Proposed Items view or the Items in Worklist view.

He/she selects a broker report item, clicks on Create Item and selects the category to be created ( Premium, Claim, Commission, Costs ).

The system leads the broker/insurance processor through the application.

  1. In the first processing step, he/she chooses the option Business Partner not Available; Proceed Without Business Partner .

  2. It is not possible to check open items without entering a business partner. The system outputs the message that the business partner is not available and that the broker or insurance processor can proceed with the next step.

  3. The broker/insurance processor clicks on Enter Amounts . An overview of existing items and items to be created appears. The broker can now enter a new premium and/or new commission.

  4. He/she clicks on Enter Change Reason . He/she then chooses a business change reason.

The system only displays the change reasons that are supported for creating broker report items without master data. For more information about the change reason, see Clarification Code and Change Reason .

The broker can also define a note about creation for the insurance processor who is to postprocess the creation.

  5. He/she selects Check and Save . The broker can now check all specifications for the new broker report item and save these. The system outputs a message to say that saving took place.

  6. The broker can now create another broker report item for the selected category or conclude processing and return to processing broker reports.

  7. The system automatically places the broker report item in the Changed view for the processed items and automatically derives the clarification code required for further processing from the change reason selected by the broker and the Customizing made.

  8. The system creates a clarification case for the created broker report items and posts the items to clarification by the insurance processor.
