Entering a Broker Report

Use

The broker reports form the basis for posting reported amounts and clearing open items from brokers and customers.

Features

You enter a broker report online as follows:

  • Proposal for Report: Choose Report Proposal in the Menu Bar.

You can create a proposal for the entire broker report, or for certain business partners or contracts from the item overview or fast entry in the broker report. You use the proposal and the selection criteria to select open items that are assigned to a broker and its customers.

The selected items are grouped to items in the broker report. Grouping takes place on the level of categories, currency, partner, insurance object, original broker for insurance object and original broker contract for insurance object , and according to a maximum of five further grouping criteria.

You use the Selected line items button to access and postprocess the items grouped to an item. If there are already items in the report when you call it up, you can overwrite or update these items. If you update items, only those open items that had not previously been selected in the report are selected.

  • Proposal for item: Click on the Item Proposal button in the item overview

If you do not create items for a broker report using an automatic proposal, but enter them manually, you can create a proposal for the selected items after entering the selection criteria (for example, business partner, insurance object) and the amount. Open items are assigned according to the selection criteria for the item. A default amount is expanded, as is a clarification code derived from the default values for each category.

  • Enter item without proposal

In this case, the selection of open items takes place when posting the report. The clarification code is enhanced, dependent on equal amounts, overpayment or underpayment.

If you enter items for a report or create them using a proposal, the “original” broker assigned to the specified business partner and insurance object is defined in the item. This can differ from the reporting broker (from the header data). If the customer contract in the invoicing period is assigned to more than one broker, the system cannot automatically determine the relevant broker. In this case, search help is available.

If the original broker differs from the reporting broker, an additional transfer posting from the original broker account to the reporting broker is generated when posting a report item.
