Clarification Code A clarification code controls posting and further processing for an item entered in the broker report.
A clarification code contains the following parameters:
Category
Posting rule
Additional activities
Main and subtransactions for postings to a subledger clarification account
G/L clarification accounts
Clarification codes must be set (
explicit
details) when entering broker reports if a proposal has been made for an item (in other words,
selected items
have been offered as a result of the proposal).
It is only possible to edit an item that does
not
have a clarification code if an item has been stored in the report
without a proposal
. In this case, dependent on equal amounts, overpayment or underpayment, the clarification code is determined from the default values given in the report for the item category, before the item is posted (
implicit
details).
The clarification code can be made invalid by a change to the reported or proposed amount for a report, if the amount change leads to a change in the equal amounts attribute or the over- or underpayment attribute. The clarification code is adjusted according to the default values defined for the clarification code.
You configure clarification codes in Customizing for
Collections/Disbursements
under
.
A clarification code groups the following control information:
Category to which the code can be applied
A clarification code can only ever be used
either
for a premium,
or
a claim,
or
commission
or
costs.
Posting rules are supplied with control attributes that define the report item categories for which posting rules can be used, and the conditions (equal amounts, overpayment, underpayment) under which the posting rules can be used.
In addition to the control information for postings, you can define any number of activities for a clarification code to be carried out once an item has been successfully posted.
External main and subtransactions for clarification postings
You define main and subtransactions for postings to a subledger clarification account. You can assign a set main/subtransaction to every clarification code.
You also have to specify transactions for postings on account as well as transactions for clarification postings in Customizing for clarification codes that use posting rules 24 (‘Commission underpayment: Full clearing on commission account, remainder to clarification’) and 27 (‘Commission overpayment: Full clearing on commission, remainder to clarification’).
Assigned general ledger accounts
