Configuring Web Browsers

You can install the web browser extensions for your web browser.

Google Chrome

The desktop agent installation automatically installs the web browser extension for Chrome. You then need to enable that extension:
  1. Open Google Chrome.

  2. Click the three dots at the top right of your browser.

  3. Select Extensions.

  4. Click the toggle button to activate the SAP Build Process Automaton extension Chrome.

  5. Optional: If you need to access html files locally, click Details on the SAP Build Process Automaton extension Chrome tile. Then enable the option "Allow access to file URLs".

Microsoft Edge

Installing the desktop agent automatically includes the installation of the web browser extension for Microsoft Edge. You then need to enable that extension:

  1. Ensure you have the chromium-based Microsoft Edge version (version 86+).

  2. Go to Extensions and enable the third-party store. Developer mode is not required. For more information see Microsoft Edge (Chromium) Developer Tools overview.

  3. Click Chrome Web Store.

  4. Search for SAP Build Process Automaton extension Edge or click SAP Build Process Automaton extension Edge.

  5. Install the extension by selecting Add to Chrome.

  6. Open Microsoft Edge. and click Add Extension:

You have now installed the SAP Build Process Automaton extension Edge extension to Microsoft Edge.

To view the SAP Build Process Automaton extension Edge version installed:

  1. Click the three dots at the top right of your browser.

  2. Select Extensions.

  3. Choose Manage extensions.

  4. Select Details.

Internet Explorer

Installing the desktop agent automatically includes the installation of the web browser extension for Internet Explorer. You then need to enable that extension.
  1. Open Internet Explorer.

  2. Select Start of the navigation pathTools Next navigation step Manage add-ons Next navigation step Enable the add-on CxWebBho3 ClassEnd of the navigation path

You must then configure the Internet Explorer settings.
  1. Open Internet Explorer.

  2. Select Start of the navigation pathTools Next navigation step Internet Options Next navigation step AdvancedEnd of the navigation path

    1. In the Browsing section, ensure that the following setting option is enabled:

      • Enable third-party browser extensions*

    2. In the Security section, ensure that the following setting options are enabled:

      • Allow active content from CDs to run on My Computer*

      • Allow active content to run in files on My Computers*

      • Use TLS 1.2

  3. Click Apply.

You must then enable Active Scripting in the Security Settings - Local Intranet Zone.
  1. Select Start of the navigation pathTools Next navigation step Internet Options Next navigation step SecurityEnd of the navigation path

  2. Click Start of the navigation pathInternet Next navigation step Custom level...End of the navigation path

  3. Ensure that the Active scripting under Start of the navigation pathSettings  Next navigation step ScriptingEnd of the navigation path is enabled.

  4. Click OK to apply the changes and exit the Security Settings - Local Intranet Zone.

  5. Click Apply and OK to exit the Internet Options

  6. Close the Internet Explorer.
