You can use this component of Product-Centric View (PCV) to display and access analytical information that results from query processing.

The main goal of PCV is to provide the required analytical information to the user in an easy-to-use way, directly embedded into the SAP Product Lifecycle Management (SAP PLM) application.

Integration

PCV integrates User Interface with the following components:

  • Query Management

    It creates, displays, changes, deletes, and transports queries. For more information, see Query Management.

  • Search Integration

    It provides access to data that queries collect and analyze. For more information, see Search Integration.

  • Foundation, Monitoring

    It provides the definition of the meaning of query attributes and variables. It also provides a function to check the consistency of queries. For more information, see Foundation, Monitoring.

Features

Depending on your needs, you can access the PCV user interface in different ways.

  • If you are a standard user, choose one of the following options:

    • Side panel

      You can access the side panel, by choosing Side Panel in the work center of the PLM Web User Interface. The side panel enables you to display dashboards, previews, and query views and to analyze the data that they represent.

    • Functions necessary for working with the side panel

      You can access the functions necessary for working with the side panel by choosing Product-Centric View on the PLM Web user interface, or on the SAP Easy Access screen.

      This option contains the functions you need to work with the side panel; you can define query views, a query list for the side panel and dashboards.

      You can access the same functions through the SAP NetWeaver Portal as well.

  • If you are an administrator, choose one of the following options:

    • PCV Administration in the Home area of the SAP NetWeaver Business Client.

    • PCV Administration on the SAP Easy Access screen.

    • Access the SAP NetWeaver Portal.

    These options contain the functions necessary for setting up and monitoring Product-Centric View.
