and

Use

When you create an indicator, the name and freeform text must be entered.

When defining compatibility indicators and groups, make sure that you enter adequate descriptions and accurate assignments.

Example Example

Assume two vehicle indicators have been defined with the characteristics of long hose and extra long hose.

If you define a compatibility group for a vehicle which has an extra long hose, both long and extra long hose indicators should be assigned, because an "extra long" hose is, by definition, also "long".

The importance of this is illustrated if you imagine trying to send the above vehicle to a customer requiring just a long hose. To ensure a successful compatibility check, the compatibility group assigned to the vehicle must have at least a long hose - any other attributes beyond the minimum requirement are disregarded by the checks.

End of the example.
