Procedure documentation Import Check  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

If you have modified SAP software component versions in your development track, these modifications can be overwritten by any updates to the component that you import into the track. This is the case when the SAP software component version changes the same objects that you have modified as part of your development work.

You can use the import check function to test whether your modifications conflict with SAP changes before the import of the new software component version. This is done using a test integration in DTR. The result of this test integration is a list of objects with new conflicts. A new conflict is one where the version of an object in the target track is not yet known (for example, imported). The user can view this list in the import check log.

You can run the import check on the Development and Consolidation tab pages of a development track.

Note

The import check can only be used on software component versions.

The import check can only be used on one software component version at a time.

The Import Check State column in the import queue shows you the state of the import check for a software component. The following are possible statuses:

      Not executed

You have not yet run the import check.

      Check finished

Import check did not detect any conflicts.

      Finished with warnings

Import check detected conflicts.

      Check failed

Import check failed.

      Check running

Import check is running.

Prerequisites

You use NW 7.0 and you have imported SPS 8 of SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI).

Procedure

If you want to run an import check, proceed as follows:

...

       1.      Select a software component version in the import queue.

       2.      Choose Import Check. A confirmation dialog box appears, which tells you that the result of the import check is temporary only and can be invalidated by imports or manual changes to the source code. You can cancel or start the import check now.

       3.      Start the import check. You can see the state of the import check in the Import Check State column.

       4.      Choose Details. The Details tab page shows you the following information about the import check: Date, Time, User, State. The Logs tab page contains a link to the log of the import check.

Result

If new conflicts are detected, the log contains links to the corresponding workspace. These links take you to the resource details in Design Time Repository (DTR). The import check locks are kept and can be displayed from the history at any time.
