Use

The Deploy Tool logs messages for the operations performed by the Deploy Tool due to users’ decisions.

The J2EE Engine also creates logs for the Deploy Service.

With the help of both log sources the user can analyze the events during deployment operations.

Integration

You can find general information about logging in the Logging section of the Administration Manual.

Prerequisites

You must have performed at least one deployment operation in the currently open deploy project (either in previous interactions with the project, or after you have opened it for the last time). Otherwise you will see a warning that the log file has not yet been created.

Activities

For each tabbed pane you can see the corresponding log file by either

·        Choosing from the menu: <tabbed_pane_name> View Log File

·        Selecting the View Log File icon from the shortcut toolbar

Note

Sometimes the Deploy Tool log files tell you that you can find more information in the Deploy Service log files.

You can find the Deploy Service logs together with all other J2EE Engine logs in the defaultTrace.trc files in the /usr/sap/<SID>/<INSTANCE_NAME>/j2ee/cluster/server<N>/log directory.

You can use the Log Viewer functionality (described in the Administration Manual) to view the J2EE Engine logs in a more user-friendly way.
