Procedure documentation Launching Web Dynpro Applications in the Windows Client  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

To launch and display a Web Dynpro application in the Web Dynpro Client for Windows, you must set up a link with the pushbutton labeled Log on.

Prerequisites

A SAP GUI for Windows must be installed on your computer.

You must have deployed the Web Dynpro application on the Web Application Server.

Make sure the Web Application Server is up and running. If you encounter problems, contact system administration. With the Web Dynpro Content Administrator, the system administrator can check and maintain the status and availability of a Web Dynpro application.

Procedure

       1.      Open SAP GUI for Windows by double-clicking the corresponding icon on the user interface of your desktop.

       2.      Choose the Web Dynpro Applications tab. A list of the defined Web Dynpro applications is displayed in the left area.

       3.      Select the required Web Dynpro application. If the required Web Dynpro application is not yet entered, you must define this link with the New Item… pushbutton.

       4.      To launch the Web Dynpro application choose Log on. A new window appears on the user interface displaying the Web Dynpro application in the Web Dynpro Client for Windows.

You can now also enter a URL directly in the address bar of the Web Dynpro Client for Windows and call a Web Dynpro application by pressing the ENTER key. You can also open the drop-down box of the input field and choose a URL from the history of the recently used URLs.

Result

You launched a Web Dynpro application that is displayed in the Web Dynpro Client for Windows. Due to the SAP-supported concept of Unified Rendering, the visual representation of the Web Dynpro application in the Web Dynpro Client for Windows corresponds to the visual representation in a Web browser.
