Use

In this step you transport the software to the production system.

Prerequisites

      You are in the Transport Studio of the Change Management Service (CMS).

      You have imported the new version of the software component into the test system and tested it there.

1. Approving the Transport

This step is used for quality assurance for your software component. Once the application has been tested successfully in the test system, a quality manager can approve the software component for transport into the production system.

       1.      Choose the Approval tab page.

The version of the software component has the status Waiting for approval in the approval queue. In the Label column, you see the Support Package number which was created during the assembly of the software component version.

Example

After the first creation of your software component version, you see the Support Package number 0.

       2.      Select the software component and choose Confirm.

The status of the software component changes to Approved. The software component is placed in the import queue of the production system.

You have approved the transport of a new software component into the production system.

2. Importing into the Production System

You use this import to copy the software changes in your application to the production system. This completes the production cycle.

       1.      Select the Production tab page.

The new version of the software component is in the import queue with the status Waiting for import .

       2.      Select the new software component and choose Import.

If the import is successful, the status changes to Import finished.

Result

You transported the software to the production system. You have imported the application into the production system and deployed it in the production J2EE Engine. The application is ready for productive use.
