You call the functions provided in this view from the context menu. The available functions depend on the type of the selected object. Deactivated functions are displayed in gray.

Note

Deactivated functions are displayed in gray. They are available only in other views.

Root

Shows the root of the DTR.

·        Show in Repository Browser: Goes to the Repository Browser view and opens it, if necessary.

·        Add Favorite: Adds the workspace to the favorites. For more information, see Basic Views in the DTR Client.

·        Explore: Opens an Explorer window.

Workspace

Shows the selected workspace.

¡        Always use Default Activity: Activates the default activity mode. Until you specify otherwise, any changes are automatically attached to the default activity.

¡        Always Explicitly Select Activity: Deactivates the default activity mode. No default activity is used.

¡        Set Default Activity: Allows you to determine the default activity.

·        Functions for synchronizing repository and local file system:

¡        Sync: Writes the contents of the workspace to the pre-determined area of the local file system.

¡        Advanced Sync:

§         Sync to Date...

§         Forced Sync

§         Sync Preview

¡        Remove from Client: Removes the contents of the workspace from the pre-determined area of the local file system.

The functions Show in Repository Browser, Add Favorite, and Explore are described above under Root.

Activity

·        Check in: Checks in the activity; the local version becomes the new active version in the repository. The activity now has status closed.

·        Describe: Opens a dialog to describe the activity. You can change the name and the description.

·        Use as Default: Sets the activity as default activity. Until you specify otherwise, any changes are automatically attached to this activity.

·        Revert Changes: Undoes the check-out of the objects in the activity.

·        Revert Unchanged Items: Undoes the check-out of the unchanged objects in the activity.

·        Delete: Deletes the activity and the versions contained in it.

·        Functions for saving and downloading activities:

¡        Upload: Saves the activity on the server without making its contents visible to other developers – the activity remains open. The upload is not executed if no changes were made since the last upload.

¡        Forced Upload: This function executes the upload in any case.

¡        Download: Saves the uploaded object locally, for example, to save the contents of a defective activity locally. Local changes you made to own objects are lost in this step.

Note

Double-click on any contained object to open it for editing.

¡        Forced Download: This function executes the download in any case.

Objects

The objects contained in activities can be files or folders.

File

The context menu for files also contains functions for other elements.

·        Functions for saving and downloading a file: these functions are described under Activity.

·        Functions Show in Repository Browser and Add Favorite: these functions are described under Root.

·        Add: Adds the object to the repository

·        Locking

¡        File

¡        Unlock

·        Assignment to the activity

¡        Move into Activity: Allows you to attach the file to another activity.

·        Revert Changes: Discards all changes and undoes the check-out of the resource.

·        Functions for administering changes:

¡        Show Content: Shows the object content

¡        View Changes: Shows the differences between the current local version and its predecessor.

¡        Compare with Active Version: Shows the differences between the local version and the active version in the repository.

You need the following functions when a conflict occurs:

¡        Merge: Merges two versions that have a common predecessor.

¡        Accept Active (Remote) Version: Discards your own local version in favor of the active version in the repository.

¡        Accept Your (Local) Version: Overwrites the active version in the repository with your own local version.

·        Functions for displaying information on the file:

¡        Show In: Shows information on the file:

§         Opens the Repository Browser at the node of the object.

§         Version Graph: Shows the version graph of the file.

§         Revision History: Shows the history of changes.

§         Opens the Explorer at the node of the object.

¡        View Permissions, Properties and Technical Properties.

Folder

·        The functions for synchronizing the repository with the local file system, Sync from Repository, Sync to Date and Remove from Client, are described under Workspace.

·        Add: Adds the object or parts of it to the repository.

·        Assignment to the activity

¡        Move into Activity: Allows you to attach the folder to another activity.

·        Revert Changes: Discards all changes and undoes the check-out of the resource.

·        Functions for saving and downloading of activities, Upload, Forced Upload and Download, are described under Activity.

·        Functions for displaying information on the file:
