As standard, the Software Deployment Manager (SDM) is integrated into the Java Startup and Control Framework of the J2EE Engine, which means that it is started and stopped automatically with the J2EE Engine.
In some situations you might need to start and stop the SDM independently of the J2EE Engine. For example, for security reasons, you may want to run the SDM during the current deployment only.
