The DTR provides a facility to allow for a controlled user access. The control over the access of the resources in the repository is exercised in two steps namely Authentication and Authorization.
● Authentication aims at checking if the user is allowed to connect to the repository server.
For user authentication, the DTR uses the User Management Engine (UME). DTR has a configuration parameter which defined how user names can be used. Usually, in the DTR Unique Names are used for users and groups.
● Authorization aims at checking if the user is allowed to perform the operation he or she is trying to execute.
