Internationalization in the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 

Purpose

The purpose of internationalization is to adapt existing applications so that they can be used in several languages and countries (or regions) without the need for changes to the source code. Specifically, at SAP internationalization deals with the issue of text strings hard-coded in applications. Using the internationalization tools, you can store these text strings separately from the application source code, in a format that can be processed in the standard translation system.

 

Integration

Internationalizing Java and J2EE projects

You can internationalize any .java file – including servlets and EJBs  (developed either in the Developer Studio or externally). More importantly for most application development, you can internationalize any project or package containing .java files – such as a Web project. Internationalizing Web Dynpro projects

When you save metadata in the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio, all declarative texts are stored in the resource bundle belonging to that Web Dynpro project. Other texts, including error messages, can be created in the Message Editor. These texts are then added to this resource bundle. The SAP translation process is then responsible for translating language-specific texts stored in the resource bundles for each Web Dynpro project.
