Editing Dependencies Between Software Components 

Use

NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI) supports the SAP component model, which helps you to structure the architecture of your software. The structured nature of the software requires you to define software components (SCs) as delivery units and configure dependency relationships between these software components.

Until now, you could only define these dependencies between SCs in System Landscape Directory. You then had to use the Update CMS function to register the descriptions of these dependencies in Change Management Service (CMS). Only then were new or modified dependency definitions integrated in the development process.

To simplify this process, you can now define and edit dependencies between SCs directly in a track. This makes it easier and quicker to implement required changes to the dependencies in your software projects in the relevant development configurations.

Prerequisites

You are in Landscape Configurator in CMS.

You have already created a track.

You are in change mode in the track you want to edit.

Procedure

To edit the dependencies of a software component, proceed as follows:

       1.      In the Select software components for which you want to define dependencies table, select the SCs for which you want to define or edit dependencies. After you have made your selection, select the SCs that are the subject of the dependency in the bottom table.

       2.      Choose Add. The dependency definitions are applied in the track configuration.

       3.      Define dependencies for all SCs that you required and close the dialog box by choosing Close.

       4.      Save the track.

Result

You have defined dependencies between software components.
