Converting Semantically Partitioned Objects to SAP HANA-Optimized ObjectsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

The semantically partitioned object must be active and the modified (M) version must match the active (A) version.

Context

If you are using an SAP HANA database and want to benefit from it when loading data into semantically partitioned objects that are based on InfoCubes, we recommend converting existing semantically partitioned objects. Activation of standard DataStore objects is automatically optimized for SAP HANA. In the case of semantically partitioned objects that are based on DataStore objects, you therefore do not need to do anything.

Procedure

  1. There are two ways of calling the conversion transaction:
    • You are on the editing screen for a semantically partitioned object. Choose Start of the navigation path Goto Next navigation step Conversion to SAP HANA-Optimized End of the navigation path. The system displays the semantically partitioned object to be edited.

    • Call transaction RSMIGRHANADB directly.

  2. Use the input help to select one or more semantically partitioned objects for conversion.
  3. Proceed as described in the procedures for the standard objects:
  4. During the conversion of a semantically partitioned object, a log is created that includes the individual logs for the conversion of the partitions of the SPO. To view the log, call transaction SLG1 and choose the object RSDRI and the subobject REFACTORING. You can display the individual logs by choosing Detail.
