Deleting a Migration ProjectLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can delete a migration project if it has not been executed.

It is not possible to delete a migration project that has already been executed. An executed project is unlocked when you try to delete it. This means that the 3.x data flow objects contained in this project can be selected and reused for other migration projects. This is useful if, for example, the project could not be completed due to an error and not all the selected data flow components were migrated. You can migrate these components to a different project after you have unlocked the original project.

Procedure

In the migration projects maintenance screen (transaction RSMIGRATE), select the migration project and choose Start of the navigation path Migration Project Next navigation step Delete Migration Project End of the navigation path.

Result

When the project is deleted, the metadata of the project is deleted from the database. Afterwards you will not be able to select or display the project in the migration projects maintenance screen.

When the project is unlocked, the metadata of the project is not deleted. Instead is is retained for documentation purposes. It is possible to display the project in the migration projects maintenance screen. However, you cannot select the project using the input help and you cannot edit or execute the project.
