A BW Workspace enables you to create ad-hoc scenarios for rapid prototyping. To help you achieve this, the BW Workspace provides you with selected, simplified SAP BW functions. This allows you to create ad-hoc scenarios that are integrated into the BW landscape and can still be quickly customized to new and changing requirements.

A BW Workspace is a special area, where you can create new models based on central data from the BW system and local data. The SAP HANA database provides faster access to this data.
