Administering Pruning for MultiProvidersLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

You can only specify restrictions for MultiProviders that only consist of InfoCubes and/or DataStore objects.

Context

You can use the program RSPP_PART_MAINTAIN to create or change entries in the table RSIPRORANGE. These entries control which characteristics are used with which criteria for pruning.

Procedure

  1. Call program RSPP_PART_MAINTAIN.
  2. Specify your MultiProvider.
  3. You can have the system make a suggestion for each InfoProvider by choosing Suggest Restrictions. This suggestion is based on the data already loaded.
    Note

You can also make entries manually. In this case, you need to ensure yourself that the entries cover the data already loaded in the InfoProviders.

You can currently only use the operators EQ (equal to) and BT (between).

  4. Choose Copy Rowto copy the existing restrictions on an InfoProvider.
  5. If new data is loaded, and the data no longer matches the ranges in this table, adjust the entries in the table. The Check Consistencyfunction helps you to do this.
  6. Activate your entries. The next time a query is executed on the MultiProvider, these entries are used for pruning.
