In the Planning screen area of the General tab, you can make settings that are relevant if you want to use the query in planning applications or to create short texts.

You can make the following settings, none of which are not selected by default:

  • Start Query in Input Mode: You can define that a query should be be started in change mode if it contains at least one input-ready query component.

    Note

This setting overrides the default settings for the changeability of data. If for example you set a structural element in such a way that the data is input-ready, but have selected the Start Query in Display Mode setting in the query properties, the query will not be input-ready when it is started. Users can activate input readiness at runtime, and the settings for the structural element made here take effect.

  • Symmetrical Calculation Mode: The calculation mode defines how the system should go about calculating inverse formulas.

    Calculating inverse formulas

    Description

    Flag not set

Initial calculation mode: This is the default setting. At query runtime, the system calculates inverse formulas if at least one value in an input-ready formula has been fixed or changed manually.

The Symmetrical Calculation Mode flag is set

Symmetrical calculation mode: At query runtime, the system calculates inverse formulas if at least one value in an input-ready formula has been fixed or changed manually.

Depending on the calculation mode selected, you can set the formula priority for all inverse formulas in an input-ready formula as follows:

    Calculation mode

    Description

    Initial calculation mode

Under the input-ready formula, you can find all inverse formulas that have been created for the input-ready operands in the carrier formula.

The order of the inverse formulas in this list determines the formula priority. The uppermost element, the carrier formula, has the highest priority.

    Symmetrical calculation mode:

Under the input-ready formula, you can find all inverse formulas that have been created for the input-ready operands in the carrier formula, and the carrier formula itself.

The order of the inverse formulas in this list determines the formula priority. The uppermost element has the highest priority. The carrier formula therefore does not, as in the initial calculation mode, always need to have the highest priority. It can be moved downwards and therefore have a lower priority.
