Master Data and Customizing for Quantity Optimizing In Customizing, you can enter information in purchasing and sales master data to control the optimizing function.
If you want to use rounding profiles to control the optimization process, you must define them in
Customizing for Logistics - General
, under
Quantity Optimization
. The rounding profiles are then assigned to articles using master data maintenance. The following cases can exist:
Rounding profiles for quantity addition or subtraction
In this case, all the data required for the rounding (threshold values and the quantity percentages to be added or subtracted). For further information, see Quantity Addition and Subtraction .
Static rounding profile
In this case, all the data required for the rounding (threshold values and rounding values). For more information, see Static Rounding Profiles .
Dynamic rounding profile
In this case, only some of the data required for the rounding is defined in the rounding profile (in particular, the rounding rule to be used). The following settings are also required:
Rounding rule
The rounding rule determines the threshold values at which the system should round a quantity up or down, and the unit of measure to be used.
Unit of measure group
Unit of measure groups are assigned to the articles in the master data. You specify which units of measure are permitted for dynamic rounding.
For more information, see Dynamic Rounding Profile .
When processing articles or purchasing info records, you define the following:
Order unit
Minimum quantity (
Minimum Quantity
field)
Maximum quantity (
Maximum Quantity
field)
Rounding profile (
Rounding Profile
field)
Unit of measure group (
Unit of Measure Group
field)
Variable unit of measure
This data is always maintained for each article, purchasing organization and vendor. At purchasing organization level, the information is valid for all sites, or only for one site if different data exists for the sites.
You have the following control options:
Customer master
You can deactivate rounding at customer level for each distribution chain by deselecting an indicator.
Item category in Customizing
In Customizing for sales documents, you use an indicator for each item category to switch the rounding function on or off.
Article master / customer-article information
Minimum quantity (
Minimum Order Quantity
or
Minimum Delivery Quantity
field)
Maximum quantity (
Max. Delivery Quantity
field)
Delivery unit (two
Delivery Unit
fields
)
The delivery unit comprises an increment and a unit of measure. If you define an increment, the system rounds off the delivery quantity so that it can be divided into whole numbers by the increment.
You only have to enter a unit of measure for the increment if the unit of measure is not the base unit of measure. Otherwise, the increment refers to the base unit of measure.
Rounding profile (
Rounding Profile
field)
Unit of measure group (
Unit of Measure Group
field)
Variable sales unit of measure
This data is always maintained for each article, sales organization and distribution channel. It can be made customer-specific through the creation of customer-article information.
