The integration of CIAP with the Material Movements process happens when a material document is posted for one of the material movement types listed below, updating the selection of CIAP records.

Prerequisites

To integrate the CIAP with Material Movement, the BAdI: Record Selection Material Movement BAdI must be implemelnted.

Process

Reservation

The 281 goods movement type is used to transfer a component from a stock to a project. The 282 goods movement type reverses the transfer of a component from a stock to a project.

  1. The system selects CIAP records based on the material code, on the plant, and on the amount of material available in the current stock.

  2. There are two possible record status for the selection:

    • IA: the amount of material is assigned to the stock and the movement from the stock to the project is registered in the Allocation tab.

    • SU: the amount of material is created and allocated to the unrestricted stock, according to the settings you've made in the Maintain Record Settings per Country/Region or Maintain Record Settings per Company Code/Business Place Customizing. The record with SU status is retired.

    If the stock transfer is partial, the original record remains available while there is material available in the current stock.

Transfer posting

The 415 goods movement type is used to transfer components from an unrestricted stock to a project stock in the same plant. The 416 goods movement type reverses the transfer between stocks in the same plant.

This process occurs similarly to the Reservation process above, with exception to the record status IA. In this case, the component is moved from an unrestricted stock to a project stock in the same plant.

Scrapping

The 551 goods movement type is used to retire a component by scrapping. The 552 goods movement type cancels the retirement of a component by scrapping.

  1. The system selects CIAP records based on the material code, on the plant, and on the amount of material available in the current stock.

  2. The CIAP record selected is retired with OT status and the non-credited balance is posted to the original account.

  3. If the record is retired partially, this retired part is in the Allocation tab and the record continues with the current status.

Note Note

To select records for this type of movement, you can implement a method of the CIAP BAdI (BADI_CIAP_MAT_MOVEMENT_REC_SEL) to substitute the default record selection process.
