Editor Area

By double-clicking on a constraint representation in the Browser area, you open the constraint in the Editor area.

Here, you can edit data such as:

  • Constraint ID
  • Attribute descriptor to validate
  • Severity
  • Error message

The Editor area consists of the header at the top plus a number of sections.

Header

The Header shows a constraint type and name of the currently chosen constraint.

Sections

The Sections of the Editor area display a number of constraint attributes you can maintain. You can configure the list of attributes to be displayed. Use the TAB key to jump to the next attribute field, and SHIFT+TAB to jump to the previous attribute field.

Via the drag-and-drop operation, you can move sections and the attribute fields within the editor area. You can re-order sections and the attribute fields, even across sections. In addition, you can show hidden attribute fields and hide displayed attribute fields.

  1. Click the Edit link in the attribute field's section

  2. Then click on the X-shaped button

Types of Attribute Fields

Text fields

The Text fields are the editor elements for the text-based attributes. They consist of an input field.

Number Fields

The Number fields are the editor elements for number-based attributes. They consist of an input field.

Drop-Down Fields

The attributes with a pre-defined range of potential values are represented by a drop-down list. To bring up a list of available values, click the drop-down arrow.

To close the list of values:

  • Select a value. This will set the selected value for the attribute.
  • Click the arrow again. This will keep the original value.

Multi-Language Fields

The attributes that can hold different values for different languages (such as descriptions). They are marked with a small icon symbolizing the earth.

To expand the attribute field editor, click the earth icon. An individual editor appears for each language.

Date Picker Fields

The attributes that take a date have a calendar icon next to their text field. To set a date, you can:

  • Enter the date directly, for example June 10th, 2010.

  • Click on the calendar icon and select a date using the pop-up window.

To browse between years, use the triangle icons in the dialog box.

Reference Selector Fields

In the SAP Commerce Cloud Administration Cockpit there is an advanced reference selector wizard. In order to open the reference selector click the Open advanced reference selector button .

Information Button

In the sections you can add the information button which displays the attribute description. You can set the displayed text by yourself.

Edit Button

In the mandatory section of a constraint there is an Edit button which enables to edit the chosen attribute descriptor or a composed type to validate.
