Initialization drops existing type definitions from the database prior to rebuilding. Type system definitions are created to match the type system definition in the items.xml files.
Initializing SAP Commerce Cloud
Initialize SAP Commerce Cloud from the Initialization page in the SAP Commerce Cloud Administration Console.
Prerequisites
Before you initialize SAP Commerce Cloud, configure a password for the admin user. For more information, see Default Users.
Procedure
Open the Administration Console.
Go to the Platform tab and select the Initialization option.
The Initialization page now displays.
Click Initialize.
As the system initializes, it carries out the following actions:
Aborts all running cron jobs.
Removes tables from the database schema using the DROP TABLE statement - both SAP Commerce Cloud data, and also type data stored in the database schema.
Prepares the ddl and dml scripts and runs them. This way, the schema is prepared and persisted into the database. Ddl scripts also remove tables.
Clears the cache.
Creates a number of media folders.
Loads licenses.
Once the type system has been initialized, the system loads essential data and project data. Loading of project data is optional, but enabled for all extensions by default. Types are also localized.
