Archiving Retail Promotions BFS Retail (LO-MD-PR)

 

Archiving object W_PROMO_AD is used to archive promotions if the Retail business function set is activated.

 

You can use promotions to change the prices of certain goods (usually reduce) to achieve increased sales. Promotions always have a specific validity period; after the end of the promotion, the normal prices are automatically used again.

This archiving object allows you to save obsolete promotion data externally and delete it from your productive system to create memory space.

To archive a promotion, in the SAP Retail menu, choose Start of the navigation path Master Data Next navigation step Promotion End of the navigation path and then Start of the navigation path Promotion Next navigation step Archiving Next navigation step Archive Promotions End of the navigation path.

To display promotion data that has already been archived, in the SAP Retail menu choose Start of the navigation path Master Data Next navigation step Promotion End of the navigation path and then Start of the navigation path Promotion Next navigation step Archiving Next navigation step Display Archive End of the navigation path.

Structure

Archiving object W_PROMO_AD contains all the data for a specific promotion. It contains the following segments:

  • WAKH: Promotion header data

  • WAKT: Promotion description (short text)

  • WAKP: Promotion items

  • WAGU: Assignment of site groups to promotion

  • WALE: Assignment of materials to sites

  • WAZB: Assignment of assortment modules to site groups

  • WAGU: Assignment of product catalogs to promotion

  • WAZT: Assignment of topics to promotion

  • WAKC: Assignment of coupons to promotion

  • WAKHIND: Index table for conditions

  • WAAL: Assignment of vendor assignment to promotion

  • WAKR: Promotion discounts

  • WAKRW: Promotion discounts per site

  • WRF_RPR_WAPL: Assignment of sites intra-promotional site groups

  • WRF_RPR_WAPG: Assignment of site grouping to intra-promotional site group number

  • WRF_RPR_WAPGT: Site grouping description short text

In addition, the message control records, which were created for messages when promotions were launched, are archived.

The long text for a promotion (header and item data) is archived with the archiving class TEXT.

Change documents for the promotion are archived with archiving class CHANGEDOCU.

You can use the following programs to archive promotion data:

  • W_PROMO_AD_ARCH_WRITE: To select and write data to an archive file

  • W_PROMO_AD_ARCH_DELETE: To delete data from the database (after writing data to an archive file)

  • W_PROMO_AD_ARCH_READ: To display data in the archive

The SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) component supports the entire software lifecycle including the storage, retention, blocking, and deletion of data.
