Finding Suitable Persons for a Job, and Creating a Potential Example

Procedure

  1. Choose Start of the navigation path Human resources Next navigation step Personnel management Next navigation step Personnel development Next navigation step Planning Next navigation step Succession. End of the navigation path

  2. The Succession Planning screen appears.

  3. If necessary, change the object type.

  4. Enter the object name or the object ID of the job in the corresponding field.

  5. If necessary, change the key date for planning.

  6. Select the planning criterion Include potentials , and at least one other criterion.

  7. Choose Enter.

  8. Choose Start of the navigation path Planning Next navigation step Execute. End of the navigation path

  9. The Succession Planning screen appears. In the top section of the screen, the system displays standard information on the job. In the succession plan, the system displays planning objects that match each of the selection criteria specified.

  10. To display the ranking list for the planning objects, choose Start of the navigation path Goto Next navigation step Ranking list End of the navigation path .

  11. The Succession Planning screen appears. This ranking list is sorted by suitability range or suitability percentage. The planning criteria that the planning objects meet are displayed in the right-hand section of the screen.

    To toggle between the suitability ranges and the suitability percentage, choose Start of the navigation path View Next navigation step Suitability % on. End of the navigation path

  12. Select the person for whom you want to define a potential for the job, and choose Start of the navigation path Planning Next navigation step Create Next navigation step Preference End of the navigation path or Potential .

  13. The potential for the job is recorded in the person’s Potentials subprofile.

  14. Repeat the step described above, as required.

  15. To update the succession plan, choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Refresh. End of the navigation path

  16. This person is displayed in the succession plan under the description is a potential of .

  17. You can save the succession plan and ranking list to file, or print them.

  • To save to file, choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Save to PC file... End of the navigation path

  • To print out, choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Print. End of the navigation path

You have searched for persons for the job in question, and assigned potential for the job to those who were suitable.
