Implementing the Alert Monitor
Use
You should monitor your SAP system using the CCMS (Computing Center Management System) alert monitor. The alert monitor is a graphical monitoring tool that automatically reports update errors and other problems in the SAP system and its environment.

Procedure
Starting the Alert Monitor
Start the alert monitor in transaction RZ20. Alternatively, choose

Contents of the Alert Monitor
If you have update problems, you can see the following in the alert monitor:

Isolated problems because of programming errors: The update server where the problem occurred is displayed in red in the alert monitor. You may see an alert text relating to updating or perhaps also Critical systemlog occurred.

General problems because of a system or database problem: Such problems are indicated by red “traffic light signals” and a corresponding message. The system may also perform poorly or crash.
